The In-Between

Absorbing, ever - watching
born feet first upon the ground,
his lungs are low on air
and a scream is all he sounds.
He left the life of learning
to a world of smoke and roses,
when a beam of light can tip both ways
unscathed is he, the boy who chose.

But still those claws dig in
in the edges of his mind,
there’s only one can see
and that's another of his kind.
He hasn’t seen a mirror,
he doesn’t know his name,
its through imagination
that he keeps himself insane.
